    This 1 hour instructor led course will cover procedures involved in use, administration, storage and recordkeeping and disposal of controlled substances. Principal Investigators, research staff and students who plan on using controlled substances in their laboratories must attend this course.     These small group hands-on sessions will focus on tracking citations to your work and gathering research metrics such as h-index, journal impact factors, and alternative metrics.  After a brief overview of the available tools (e.g. Web of Science, Scopus, Journal Citation Reports, Altmetric, etc.) the bulk of the time will available for participants to gather their own information, ask questions, and receive individualized assistance.  Bring your own laptop or other device. Groups are limited to 4 people.

    In this 1.5 hour session geared toward staff, the Office of Research staff explain how controlled substances can be used in research and the regulations controlling their use. University procedures for complying with the regulations will be discussed. Learn how the university manages the risk associated with this compliance risk and your role in those processes.
