Are you looking to improve your mentoring skills? The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs is hosting a National Research Mentoring Network Mentoring Workshop in Wooster for Faculty. Strong mentorship has been linked to enhanced mentee productivity, self-efficacy, career satisfaction, and is an important predictor of the academic success of scientists and engineers in training. The Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) has developed a curriculum based on proven mentorship development curricula.

This evidence-based workshop uses a process-based training approach to provide training that strengthens your current research mentoring experiences and research productivity. The training, has been embraced by an increasing number of institutions and professional societies and organizations and positively impacted both faculty and trainees. This evidence-based training is supported by NIH, and includes the following areas of mentorship practices and interests: aligning expectations, assessing understanding, and maintaining effective communication. There will be one session offered for faculty and a slightly different session for graduate students and postdocs. For more information visit our website here.
